Being a Search Engine Marketer I have come across design parameters that I follow for the best search engine experience. This is imperative to be found on the internet. The first goal of your website is to present content! This content must be usable and accessible, and therefore it must always be legible. I know from experience that people get enamored with fancy graphics and designs. However the main purpose of your website is to get your content online and seen.

You need to think of your website as an information and brochure portal. What this means is that you will use your website in all manners of your local advertising to "answer or demonstrate" your products) or service to your customers.

Building a content driven website with usability and accessibility in mind saves you business costs associated to spending time on the phone answering questions by yourself or your employees. Using a website in this "pre-screen or pre-qualification" manner assists significantly your potential customer and you to have a smoother and more "targeted" transaction.

You are assisted through an evaluation of your business, on how to best present your business on the internet. This evaluation will best determine what will be the most useful information (text and graphics) for your customers and have them come to your location to complete the transaction.

This can work for any type of business or personal branding. By demonstrating appropriate content a person can review your website prior to visiting your local business. A website is not just about selling your products and services online. It is a very inexpensive "Yellow" pages ad in detail for your products and services.

The greatest asset of owning a website is that the content can be changed easily and quickly for changes that you make in your business. No waiting for the next printing of the "Yellow Pages".

Owning a website for your business is easier and more cost effective than you think. You can even use your own employees to update your website with the proper training. This is the power of the internet! More and more the internet is being used by local businesses to have more customers come to their location.

To give a brief example my family loves to shop at a regional food store called Stew Leonard's. They currently have four (4) locations in the New York and Connecticut area. Yes I am a customer however I use their email subscriber list and visit their website to see the latest offerings specials.

The power is even though this is a weekly stop for our family - the power of this plain, ordinary site assists us greatly in finding "specials" that we may otherwise miss. The power from their perspective is that they can assist their customers with the information they have been asking for in their "in-house" suggestion box. This is a powerful example of how a local business uses the power of the internet in connection with it's local stores.

Website Design

We use open source designs that are valued by Google. We have learned that Google has held joint conferences with Wordpress and Joomla. Major corporations have adapted "open-source" applications and now incorporate Wordpress into their website design.

Joomla - is a complete CMS type site.

The purpose of your site is to get recognized in search engines for the best optimization. These two applications are the best available for you. In addition we do also provide HTML sites.

Do not be persuaded by other website designers that they provide unique designs. All website design does come from a template whether it is built in Dreamweaver, Adobe, Front Page, Cold Fusion or Active Server Pages. The key is to make tweaks and changes to for your unique design .

As you look at website designs you will notice that they will basically consist of a header, navigation, sidebars, and content sections.

A very popular website design is flash however flash is not conducive to search engine optimization.

The Semiologic Application is used to host this website. This design is a Wordpress application on steroids. It truly is an application that always ranks the best for keywords in Search Engine Optimization.
